Walking in the Conwy Valley and Snowdonia
Everyone thinks of walking in Snowdonia as the mountain itself. The walking this end of the range is far better, more ground cover, more forest, more wildlife, more, mountain ponies, more history, mines, druid burial chambers, stone circles so if you want some really interesting walking come and see us.
The Conwy Valley has got to be in the top ten for the most beautiful places in Britain. In spring the lambs are leaping and the woods are full of bluebells and wild garlic. Summer is fantastic, beaches on one side, mountains, lakes and rivers on the other. Autumn is all colour shades of gold, red and yellow, see the colour of the valley forests and winter can be great for the all weather walker ( they say that there is no such thing as bad weather just bad clothing ) The Manor is situated 3 miles down the valley from Conwy and you can walk across the Talyfan mountain (2000ft) to the cliffs above the sea taking in some breath taking views and if you want to explore the local countryside on horse back we get to within a few hundred feet of our own Talyfan mountain where wild ponies graze and buzzards float over head. Dont forget your camera.
Treviw is just a few miles down the valley and from here you can explore the Gwidir forest with some of the most beautiful lakes and ground flora in North Wales.
Betws-y-Coed is 10 miles down the valley and just beyond is where the rugged 3000 ft peaks begin.
If you love to walk you'll love this area in all seasons.Take a walk up our local mountian, the Talyfan. You pass one of the oldest church sites in Britian, from here you will get fantastic views of the whole of the northern Conwy Valley. Come down via the Druid burial chamber into Rowen village for a pint or a coffee.
Welsh mountain ponies just about a mile from us.....This is the Conwy valley. great place to get away from it all.
