“Wonderful country retreat”
Reviewed 27 September 2011

We had the pleasure of staying at Gwern Borter in the summer and enjoyed it enormously. The house is lovely, beautifully decorated; our room was perfect;the breakfast was plentiful and very good, and the service was second to none. Thank you for making our stay such a pleasant one.

“LOVED IT - wanna buy it”

We stayed at 3 different B and B's in our trip to Northern Wales, July 10 - 15th, Gwern Borter Manor was by far the best. Owner was very helpful and friendly. House, rooms, grounds were spotless. Beds were very comfortable and it was so quiet there. VERY short drive south of Conwy Castle. A gem!

“Idyllic location, beautiful house, thoroughly enjoyable stay!”
Reviewed 2 May 2011
I really couldn't fault Gwern Borter. We stayed for 3 nights in Room 1 (the triple room). Loved the gardens/grounds/ the intriguing collection of antiques and curios. Spacious, comfortable room although the en suite is very small and I hadn't realised until we arrived that there was no wash basin in the en-suite,( the wash basin is in the corner of the bedroom.) There are windows on 2 sides so the room is airy and there are lovely views of the mountains behind the Manor. Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice and good quality products. Comfortable lounge although we didn't really use it as we were out all day making the most of the wonderful sunshine.

Chrisine B widness Christmas 2011

winter break
Our trip to the conway valley was a late Christmas present to each of us, and we had a lovely time at Gwern Borter manor, we booked a triple room, and it was fine for our 2 day stay. Gary made us very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. I think you do need a car when staying there, but there are bus services from the village so it is possible to visit the valley by bus. It is in a beautiful spot, quiet and peaceful, but there are lots of things to do in the area and also in the grounds where there are several self-catering cottages, which are very well equipped.

“Wonderful!”

Reviewed 1 September 2009

We've just got back from a wonderful week here. We had 3 of the cottages between us and they were ideal, all next to each other so we could spend time together, but still have our own space. They were on a courtyard where the 7 children in our party had endless fun whizzing round on the bikes and skateboards that are provided for them in return for a small charity donation. The children also enjoyed feeding the horses, goats, chickens and geese that are just behind the cottages. It is very safe for the children and they were able to play out and we were able to see them from our cottages. It is a very peaceful location.
The cottages are comfortable, very clean and well equipped, lots of cooking utensils, pans, oven dishes etc.
The location is beautiful, surrounded by hills and woods. Lots to do round and about.
Gary the owner was very helpful and both the children and some of the adults enjoyed horseriding with him.
We had a fantastic time, and have booked to go back next year!

“Loved the Solitude”

Reviewed 26 May 2009

We stayed with our kids for a Farm stay in Wales. Oh boy, did they have a great time with feeding the horses, ducks , sheep and hens.Alf , the doggie was always at hand which made the stay a hit! We could use their bicylces and cycle up the lovely slopes of the countryside. Well located to several eating places in Conwy and Llandudno. Well kept premises with attention to detail.

“WOW factor!! you will never want to leave!!!”

Reviewed 20 February 2009

We started staying here a year ago and we have been back 4 times since. We stay in one of the cosy and authentic self catering cottages which are all surrounded by beautiful and stunning mountain views. You really get the wow factor when you pull up!! The kids occupy themselves for hours by either feeding the horses and other animals...
